Introduction
This exercise from module 3 involved locating and extracting content in the form of text and graphics from a Primary Source. This is information created in a primarily documentary form by researchers and developers. It relates generally, or specifically, to the work they were engaged in at that time.
Locating the source
This was a relevantly simple exercise. The information forms part of the library at Rand.org. This Primary Source Chapter relates to the research done by Paul Baran and can be accessed here. Once the page had been found it was again a simple matter to locate and copy the text and graphics requested.
Saving the information
The text information was saved directly into a study guide. The graphic was saved to the same folder and applied to the study guide directly below the extracted text.
Conclusion
The principal lesson learned here was the availability of such information. Finding and using such information puts a whole new perspective on Internet researching.
